Staten Island, NY – October 6, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Chelsea Financial Services is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of the customer assets and accounts of General Securities, a Kansas City-based brokerage firm with a remarkable legacy of compassion and service. General Securities, founded by Dave Miller, established Hogar de Esperanza (“House of Hope”), an orphanage in Peru dedicated to caring for children in need. This partnership continues a tradition of integrity, generosity, and global impact that spans nearly 30 years.

Located in the heart of Peru’s coastal desert, House of Hope has served as a sanctuary for orphans since receiving its first resident in 2002. Over the past two decades, the orphanage has provided shelter, education, and adoption support for countless children, with a total capacity for 40–50 residents. The facility features a chapel, a spacious dining hall, administrative offices, and second-floor accommodations for volunteers and adoptive families. The orphanage consists of four homes designed for different age groups: Chispas de Amor (“Sparks of Love”) for the youngest children, Tesoros del Rey (“Treasures of the King”) for middle-aged children, Amigos de Jesús (“Friends of Jesus”) for older youth, and Luces de Esperanza (“Lights of Hope”) for teenagers preparing for independence.

The vision for House of Hope was born during one of Miller’s morning jogs in Trujillo, Peru, when he encountered children scavenging for food. Deeply moved, Miller and his late wife, Vickie, joined a group of local Christians to create a home for these vulnerable children. In 2003, to ensure the mission’s sustainability, Miller donated 100% of General Securities’ stock to Saving Street Children, a 501(c)(3) foundation that supports adoptions across the globe, including in Ukraine, China, and Africa, while funding the Peru orphanage’s ongoing operations.

“When I decided to sell my company, I reached out to our clearing house, Hilltop Securities, for guidance,” said Dave Miller, Founder of General Securities. “They recommended Chelsea Financial Services, and from my very first meeting with John Pisapia, President of Chelsea, I knew it was the right choice. Every one of my brokers chose to join Chelsea, including one who’s been with me for over 40 years.”

At 78, Miller will remain active as an Independent Broker with Chelsea Financial Services, continuing to support House of Hope and global adoption initiatives through the proceeds from the sale and his ongoing work with clients.

“This acquisition not only strengthens our national presence but also allows us to contribute to a mission that changes lives,” said John Pisapia, President of Chelsea Financial Services. “We’re proud to welcome all of General Securities’ representatives to the Chelsea family and honored to help further Dave Miller’s incredible humanitarian work.”
